1. Rubjerg Knude



You will not believe your own eyes when you see this place. Am I even in Denmark? Howcome I have never heard of this place? Is this even real? These are some of the questions you might be asking yourself when visiting Rubjerg Knude! You will feel like being in the Sahara Desert, but with a spectacular added view of the ocean!

2. Vesterhavet



If you are a fan of history, huge beaches or big waves, Vesterhavet will be worth your visit! Vesterhavet is known as Denmark’s surf-version of Hawaii since the big waves makes a perfect opportunity for surfing. Vesterhavet can be accessed through different cities on the west coast of Denmark. Below are mentioned a few:
- Hvide Sande – Entering the beach from here, you will see a lot of bunkers from the second world war. You can still climb on and inside some of them, but most of the bunkers have been filled up with sand over time.
- Løkken Strand – In this part of Vesterhavet you are able to legally drive on some parts of the beach. The beach can be accessed by car either from “Ndr. Strandvej” or from “Ny Strandvej”.
3. Frederikshavn Palm Beach



Do you like tropical places? Or at least the feeling of being somewhere tropical? Well, in the city of Frederikshavn they have been so clever to create a “Palm Tree Beach” to give the visitors a feeling of tanning and bathing in the south of Europe when in fact they are in Denmark. Definitely worth a visit in the summer!

4. Himmelbjerget



Breathtaking views are what Himmelbjerget has to offer! If you translate Himmelbjerget into English, it means the sky mountain. When you visit, you will understand the reason why it is called this compared to the rest of Denmark. Not compared to the mountains of France, Italy and Switzerland, since this “sky mountain” is actually just a big hill. In the Danish landscape it is calculated to be one of the highest natural points, and it is the perfect place in the nature for a little picnic!

5. Dybbøl Mølle



The cutest old mill in Denmark you will find! But what makes it different from all the other old mills in Denmark is the fact that this mill became a national symbol after the battle of Dybbøl in 1864 and now it is a museum.

6. Fole Tulipmark



If you love buying tulip bouquets during tulip season, you will love finding yourself strolling around a whole field filled with endless different colours of tulips!

- What to bring: Cash to buy some tulips and for the ladies bring your finest and most twirly dress to take some cute pictures for the gram!

7. Faxe Limestone



Craving that turquoise blue water in Bali or the Maldives? Save your money because Faxe Limestone got you on this one! Faxe Limestone has the oldest deepwater coral reef in the world. It’s incredible what history nature is hiding! Beautiful it is, but be aware that the water of Faxe Limestone is a lot colder than the ocean water! So if you decide to go for a swim, make sure to bring a friend in case you get cramps under the water!

8. Vejby Beach



A beach with breathtaking views of the ocean from the cliffs above. The beach can be accessed through the narrow and steep stairways leading the way down from the top of the cliffs. The nature in this part of Denmark is incredible! Hence, a very popular summer vacation destination for danes.

9. Stevns Klint



Do you love cliffs? Because Denmark has quite a few of them, and each one of the cliffs are beautiful in their own unique way. Stevns Klint is a cliff that has made it to UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Visiting the old church located of the edge of the cliff feels like something taken straight out of a romantic movie. The church closed to service in 1920 due to the fact the part of the church crashed into the ocean. However, the church is well maintained for visitors today, and now has a beautiful balcony facing the ocean, which can be accessed through the church.

10. Erholm Slot



What nature lover does not love a castle with a big romantic garden? Erholm Castle has it all! The ponds, the romantic white little bridges, beautiful benches, roses… What more is to be said? If you are a romantic or just love castles, put this one on your list of places to go!

11. Fredensborg Palace



The most used residence of the Danish queen. It is beautiful and the castle garden is huge. You can easily spend several hours walking around the different parts of the garden.

12. Kronborg Castle



Have you ever read or watched Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet”? This castle is known all over the world as the castle of Hamlet and has even made it on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. So, find your inner Shakespeare and go explore Kronborg Castle and the surrounding nature!

13. Hindsgavl Castle



Grab your picnic basket and head to the beach of Hindsgavl castle. The Castle and its gardens are so romantic. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to have a picnic in the gardens, but there is a super nice little beach at the end of the gardens, where you can perfectly enjoy your picnic in a cozy ocean environment after enjoying your stroll through the roses and tea houses of the gardens.

14. Den Tilsandede Kirke



The Sand buried Church – A church that has been covered with sand over time. It is an interesting attraction to be visiting since you can still access the tower of the church, and standing there knowing that there is an entire church beneath you, below the surface, is a weird but yet interesting feeling. Thinking of the power of time and nature makes this experience even more special!

15. Bellevue Beach



Bellevue Beach is a beautiful beach in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen. It has beautifully designed Life Guard Towers, designed by the famous Danish designer Arne Jacobsen. The place is very idyllic and perfect to spend a warm summer day at or go winter bathing if you have an inner polar bear hidden in you!
